Fred's father, Sam B. Lonidier, was a veteran of WWI and a resident of Oroville. Sam died in 1961.
Fred's words about his father: "Dad never talked much about his service and, by the mid 40s to 50s, it had been a long time ago; long before he met and married my mom in Oregon. The one story was that he came down with appendicitis before the ship sailed for France, so he never served overseas."
